Every year the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium swarms with ingenious, crafty, beautiful, unique, and covetable items for sale and show from carefully selected artisans.

This year from April 11 through April 14, citizens will get to peruse booth after booth of handmade goods and products being featured during this year’s Merrie Monarch Festival.

This free event showcases local artists and craftspeople that are passionate about their craft. Selection of vendors started last year; fair coordinators and committee members vetted applications that were sent in by the December 2011 deadline.

This popular and free craft fair continues to grow. The Butler Building on Manono Street in Hilo will also be used to house more vendors. There are ninety-two booths in the auditorium and an additional twenty-three booths in the Butler Building.
