The weekend isn’t over yet; Sunday March 25 at 7 p.m., singer and guitarist Raul Midon will perform his rather contemporary brand of jazz and percussive guitar. His smooth tenor entrances audiences worldwide.

Midon’s current tour has taken him through Germany and France. Last night (3/24) he performed in Honolulu and will stop by the Big Island for one night only. Tomorrow, Midon moves on to Maui’s Kahului Theatre and will depart the isles for California, New York, Massachusetts, Florida and DC.

This far-reaching tour will span multiple venues in the US and Europe, and keeps Midon performing through September. His final stop will be in Barcelona, Spain.

Born in New Mexico, Midon didn’t let his blindness deter him from his passions. In 2006, he was a featured performer on the Letterman Show and now calls NYC his hometown.

Six solo albums and three compilation CDs later, Midon continues to impress audiences with his flamenco and jazzy sound.  His song “State of Mind” is punchy, percussive and upbeat. His playing is energetic and playful. The bright sound of his guitar strikes the right note against his vivid lyrical voicing and scat interludes.

From high to low, Midon’s unique pacing and uplifting vocals will transport Hawai’i audiences and make them forget, just for a bit, our water-locked state.

Tickets are $25. Visit www.kahilutheatre.org for more information. Kahilu Theatre is located behind the Parker Ranch Center in Kamuela, at 67-1186 Lindsey Road. Call 885-6017.
